Governor’s Island Tour
*FULL DAY ONLY*
This unique NYC kid experience starts with a ferry ride from lower Manhattan to a 30 acres oasis of new parkland packed with fun activities and events for kids! We’ll start by playing and getting wet at Liggett Terrace which features climbing structures, swings and 90 water jets! We’ll eat our packed lunch picnic style while gazing at the beautiful views of New York City. Afterwards we’ll enjoy a game of mini golf designed by the Figment arts collective. This mini-golf exhibit changes every year and always features wildly innovative holes that are usually fashioned out of recycled materials - it is just as much an art exhibit as it is an interactive game to play! If we’re lucky, we’ll get to participate in GrowNYC’s (an urban farm) hands-on educational programming or hands-on art making led by CMA’s Teaching Artists. Before heading back, we’ll explore the Benjamin Jones TreeHouse, also built from sustainable materials. The TreeHouse has a glass bottle wind chime and fun mirrored surfaces on the interior and is especially enticing to the under 10 demographic.
These tours are designed to be parent-free, though parents are welcome to join for as long as they’d like! Project Playdate maintains a 1:4 ratio of experienced child care providers to children in the 3-6 age range and a 1:6 ratios for children in the 7-10 range.
We’ll confirm any adjusted or specific details with you then send over a finalized playdate plan before our special day!
